Maintenance History

Monash Residential Services is constantly striving to improve the living environment for all students that live in our residential facilities, whilst at the same time reducing our impact on the natural environment. Below is a run down of the major maintenance and renovation highlights that have occurred at Berwick Residential from 2001 to 2007.

2007

Location	Description
Communal Building	Purchase of a Billiard Table and accessories
Communal Building	Completion of landscaping around building
All areas	Installation of AAA rated shower heads to all occupied rooms
All areas	Program commenced to replace all incandescent light globes with long-life compact fluoros (where applicable).
All areas	Installation of outdoor seating
North Flats	Purchase of a new electric bbq
North Flats	Refurbishment program commenced with renovation of Flat 950A; full paint, new carpets (bedrooms), new bookshelves (bedrooms), new drapes throughout and new furnishings in the lounge/dining area.
Hall of Residence	Roof Access hatch installed – Building 954
All areas	Installation of vacant/engaged locks on all shared bathrooms and toilets.
All areas	Relocation of Residential Administration Office to the Communal Building
All areas	Installation of internal phone extensions into all common areas
All areas	Installation of storage shed and paving.
All areas	Installation of two hours timers on all electric heaters

2006

Location	Description
North Flats	Construction of covered entrances
North Flats	New Landscaping
Hall of Residence	New Residential Buildings fitted out and opened & Courtyard landscaping completed
All areas	New Communal Building opened
All areas	Recycling program introduced for; paper, cardboard, bottles, cans etc
Communal Building	New Hall of Residence Laundry opened
Communal Building	Installation of new bbq area (2 x electric bbq’s & bench)
Hall of Residence	Installation of additional overhead kitchen cupboards; all communal kitchens.
Hall of Residence	Installation of padlock fixtures to all kitchen cupboards; all communal kitchens.
Communal Building	Installation of Digital AV equipment
Communal Building	Purchase of Table Tennis table and accessories.
Hall of Residence	Installation of dripper irrigation system for courtyard.

2005-2006
