Residential Programs

The Residential Supervisor and Residential Support Assistant coordinate a wide range of social, academic and personal development programs for our residents. There are usually 2 main social events each month at which the Residential Support Team aim to bring all residents to and give them the opportunity to discuss the challenges they face academically, personal issues such as financial budgeting, stress management, forming networks, friendships and other matters of concern and interest to residents. The overall objective is to develop an environment, corresponding support programs and initiatives that encourage personal growth in a community context.

Examples of events organised include:

  • cooking classes from the can to the pan (how to avoid junk food and eat quickly and healthy;
  • an evening at the cinema (residents are consulted about which film to see that appeals to the majority) and are taken as a group or the Residential Support Team organise the group to walk to the venue in order to promote physical fitness;
  • how to study without stress; a bbq with a academic support counsellor as a the main guest.
  • 2009 Caulfield events calendar (pdf 19kb)
