Place out your 80 or 120 litre garbage bin for weekly collection. .
Garbage waste includes all types of food waste, nappies (wrapped), ceramics, meat, polystyrene, plastic bags, and small quantities of window glass (wrapped in newspaper).

Either return your plastic bags to the supermarket for recycling or place plastic bags in your garbage bin.
Make sure you do not place any chemicals, paint or oil in your garbage bin. Oil should be taken to the Waste Transfer Station for recycling. Paint and chemicals should be recycled at the annual Sustainability Victoria household chemical collection. Timber and other building materials must not go into your garbage bin. Some of these can be recycled at the Waste Transfer Station or put out at your next Hard Waste Collection.
Please place plastic bags and polystyrene in your garbage bin.

What can I put in my recycling bin?
Many common household items can be recycled in Frankston City Council's kerbside recycling collection.
What you can and cannot place into your recycling bin:

Plastic items with codes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7. Includes
- Plastic drink bottles
- Margarine, icecream and yoghurt containers
- Shampoo and conditioner bottles
- Plastic take-away containers, and motor oil containers

Plastic containers with no code, includes moulded plastic cake and biscuit plastic containers.

Recycling Tips:
- Crush all cartons, plastic and cans.
- Crush and tear cardboard boxes to prevent jamming.
- Do NOT place recyclables in plastic bags!

Frankston residents are to be congratulated for their outstanding contribution to the success of our kerbside recycling program. Each Frankston resident on average, produces 6.2 kg of recyclables per week. The annual cost per household for this service is $78.00 per annum.
