Disabled and special needs facilities

Peninsula Residential welcomes students with special needs. These students are also recommended to register with the Disability Liaison Unit so that all accessibilty issues can be discussed, to enable students to fulfil the inherent requirements of their award courses.

To enable special needs residents to be suitably accommodated some of the accommodation options have been specifically built or modified for students with varying disabilities.

At Samada Street one of the units  has been specially equipped to assist students with varying disabilities.

Similarly the student village has many added facilities to make on-campus living a reality for students with disabilities.

Some added features are:

  • wide doorways
  • ramps
  • rails in bathrooms and toilets
  • low kitchen benches
  • wide shower areas
