Monash Residential Services has been committed to establishing ‘residential’ based environmental activities. Due to the nature of Clayton Residential's unique setup, an Environmental Coordinator is appointed each academic year to drive an environmental program for Clayton Residential.

The Environmental Coordinator in collaboration with the Residents' Committee and Residential Programs Coordinator encourage the residents at Clayton Residential to participate in the various environmental issues concerning the residences here at Clayton. The Environment Coordinator is responsible for the Clayton Residential community garden and encourages resident participation in environmental issues concerning Clayton Residential.

Through this, Clayton Residential hopes to produce residents who would become more environmentally aware in their own communities.
