South East Flats
The South East Flats consist of 30 furnished flats accommodating 113 students. Flats vary in size from 2 bedrooms up to 5 bedrooms. The flats are located in the south-east corner of the campus - just minutes from the main campus buildings and lecture theatres. The South East Flats offer residents a more private living environment, in that each flat is fully self contained. One of the benefits associated with living at the South East Flats is that their structure and governance enables residents to become more independent and self-reliant. Residents are still actively encouraged to take part in the support services offered by Clayton Residential. The South East Flats offer a greater dimension to the housing options offered by Monash Residential Services. The Flats are ideally suited to second and higher year students who are seeking something a little more private. The South East Flats has a large communal building called the Pavilion which contains a kitchen, lounge area with pool table, projector screen with DVD, TV and Foxtel. The decking of the Pavilion overlooks a scenic lake within the grounds of the South East Flats. There are several BBQ areas for the residents to enjoy. The Residential Support Team live within the South East Flats community. The College Head and RA's actively encourage and promote interactions amongst all the residents. Special events are held throughout the year on a regular basis. These social events and the supportive structure of the Residential Support Team contribute significantly to the residents well-being and personal growth.
